Initial Phase

The first task to complete was to take the clients existing hosting and disable the page builder and static holding page then to install a fresh copy of WordPress configured and tested to work correctly for media uploads, email, permalinks as well as install a few basic plugins such as wordfence for essential security, performance profiler and the plugins we’d be using for our slider, and lastly a ‘coming soon’ holding page while development was underway.

Main Build – primary phase

The primary phase was the construction and deployment of a basic set of full custom WP templates to account for all the standard WP views such as archive loops single post and single pages and various custom functions to manage in post/page featured thumbs display and sidebar toggling for post pages.

Having created the site main templates the focus turned to creating the three main site views with the client these were the homepage layout and the two main pages covering the companies primary services.

Project Completion

The final phase having uploaded and tested all pages on the production site was to install and configure Yoast SEO plugin for the client and then to hold two training sessions with the client so that they were comfortable handling basic WP post creation and editing and understood the process for updating pages if necessary.
